The concept of mood contagion is a very recent interest to cognitive scientists, but a heavily researched one. From body language to vocal inflections, the ability of the mind to be aware of emotions is an fantastic feat of cognition, albeit one that isn't fully understood. One idea towards how to discover how the mind is capable of such a feat is to model it in an artificial cognitive environment, modeling agents with moods that are affected by those around them. To this end, we follow in the footsteps of researchers before us, using Professor Ron Sun's Clarion cognitive architecture to begin taking the steps towards replicating these human cognitive experiments.
