Minds & Machines - Areas of Interest

Cognitive Science is a very broad field of study, and Minds & Machines students are drawn to the program for many different reasons. Some students like to speculate on the nature of consciousness, others want build more effective interfaces for the human mind, and still others want to build autonomously smart robots. To give you a taste of all the different directions that one can go into, some suggested areas are listed below.

Below are 2 main areas  indicated, with 4 sub-areas for each. This will not only serve as a kind of map to navigate all the different areas of cognitive science, but may also attend interested students to possible directions of study they might not even have thought of before. It should be noted that these concentrations are picked with the expertise of the faculty in the Cognitive Science Department in mind. Also, please note that these are not official; rather, they serve as a guide to explore and focus your interest. Still, suitable degree programs and elective courses are suggested so as to help the students create their curriculum. If you have any further questions, please contact the Director.
