New Games and Simulation Arts and Sciences Lecture Series Starts Wednesday

The Games and Simulation Arts and Sciences (GSAS) program is pleased to announce the inaugural lecture of the first-ever GSAS Lecture series this Wednesday, October 25, at 12 noon in Sage Labs 3101.
The speaker is Dr. Hartmut Koenitz, Professor of Interactive Narrative Design at HKU University of the Arts, Utrecht, Netherlands.  Dr. Koenitz’s talk is entitled, “Enabling Discourse in the 21st Century: Narrative Representations of Complexity.”
Hartmut Koenitz researches Interactive Digital Narrative in Video Games and other emerging digital formats, focusing on new expressive forms using digital technology, including narrative for video games as well as interactive art pieces and installations. He was previouly Assistant Professor in Mass Media Arts at Georgia Tech, where he received the Class of 1969 Teaching Scholars award.  He teaches digital media, including interactive narrative, game programming, video production, and web design.  
The talk is sponsored by the State of New York/Empire State Development and the School of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences, and is free and open to the public. A light lunch will be provided.
