This book presents a computer model, CLARION, that synthesizes a
wide variety of cognitive science research. The model is well motivated,
explained in full, and related to broad issues such as the nature of
consciousness. ....  The emphasis on CLARION provides good focus, and is
supported well by the theme of implicit vs. explicit processing.

Sun's book is intriguing for having a solid AI footing, while
mixing in astute presentations of Heidegger, Dewey, James, etc.
